Hello, I’m Nicole King, a Counsellor based in Brisbane.
I combine my counselling experience with a life of experience to support clients facing life’s challenges. I’m passionate about helping people navigate change, loss, and feelings of being stuck—whether that’s in their emotions, situations, or relationships. I offer a compassionate, supportive space to help you move from feeling trapped to honouring your journey, owning your story, and rebuilding a meaningful life.

Previous life
My path to becoming a Counsellor began after two decades in corporate and non-profit sectors, working in Marketing and Internal Communications. After a pause to raise my children, I realised that my true calling was not in marketing, but in helping others. Inspired by my experience working in a non-profit organisation, I saw first-hand the profound impact counselling had on individuals overcoming homelessness, addiction, and abuse. It made me realise how one life event can change everything.
Why Counselling (not psychology)
I chose counselling over psychology because of its holistic, person-centered approach. I’m drawn to the process of truly listening to my clients and walking alongside them as they work toward their goals, without focusing on diagnosis. I found a deep passion for one-on-one support, guiding individuals through self-discovery and growth.
Who I work with now and how I work
I work with individuals experiencing significant change or loss—whether from the death of a loved one, relationship breakdown, health or job loss, or relocation. My counselling approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, with a strengths-based focus. I tailor the methods to each client’s needs, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Emotional Freedom Technique, while incorporating Bach Flower Essences for additional support.

Other support I offer
Self-care is essential, and I integrate proven practices into Care Packs to help clients reduce stress and prevent burnout. As a trained Bach Flower Essence Practitioner, I offer these remedies to support healing and well-being.
